June 2026
Your complete directory of confirmed and inferred open evening dates for June 2026 — covering 25 schools across 12 regions, with booking details and direct admissions links.
Open evenings are your first real look
Visiting in Year 5 gives your child and your family the information they need to make a confident, informed decision — well before registration deadlines open in the autumn.
When are open events?
Most grammar school open evenings for Year 7 September 2027 entry fall between June and October 2026. June events are your earliest opportunity to visit — ideal for Year 5 families starting to plan.
Do you need to book?
It varies. Some schools (like The Judd School and Queen Mary's Grammar) are walk-in only, while others require Eventbrite tickets or timed-slot bookings that can fill up quickly. Always check the school's own page.
Confirmed vs. inferred dates
Confirmed dates have been cross-referenced against official school or local authority admissions pages. Inferred dates are based on prior-year patterns and should be verified directly with the school before you travel.

Making the most of your open evening visit
Six practical things every family should do before, during, and after each school visit this summer.
Book early, book smart
Headteacher presentations fill up fast — often within hours of booking opening. Set a calendar reminder for the exact moment registration opens, especially for Wilson's School and Henrietta Barnett.
Prepare questions in advance
Ask about the 11+ test format used, how results are communicated, distance from home to school, and what support is available for children at the borderline. Schools appreciate prepared families.
Bring your child
Most open evenings are designed for children too — not just parents. Your child's gut feeling about the atmosphere, teachers, and students they meet can be the deciding factor.
Check the journey time
A school 30 minutes away in summer traffic may be 60 minutes in the September rush hour. Do a test run before committing — especially for grammar schools outside your immediate local authority.
Verify the date before travelling
Always click the official school link and confirm the event is still on the original date. Schools update their pages and can reschedule events — sometimes with only a week's notice.
Note the registration deadline
For most areas, 11+ registration opens in June or July. Attending an open evening in June puts you ahead of the curve — you can register confidently rather than under pressure.
Schools with July events
These schools were checked but their open events fall after 30 June 2026 — excluded from the main directory but still worth noting in your diary.
